 MESC 2008 had a considerable impact on its participants, here are some examples of what they have written during, and after the conference:
"Believing
that to act against a war one has to be pro peace, I saw MESC as a
unique opportunity to help the cause. While I have attended several
similar events in the past, MESC was very different in bringing more
than one side to the table. We had an opportunity to understand
positions of people from Israel, Palestinian Authority, North America
and European Union. Trying to negotiate and find a compromise in this
diverse and fragmented environment greatly enhanced my understanding of
the nature and the complexity of the conflict. Of course… it is also a
very fun social activity with lots of great people to meet!"
